Link's Awakening Remake: Totaka's Song Confirmed

GameXplain is finally answering the important questions about the remake. Questions like, is Totaka's Song still in the game? Well, they investigated this in a recent video and yes, if you wait long enough in Richard's villa, it will indeed play a new version of Totaka's Song in the remake. They really have thought of everything!

On top of that, the music Easter eggs for the file names "zelda" and "totakeke" are still intact. The latter offered a remix of Totaka's Song, which was previously exclusive to the Japanese version. There's no word on Lolo's Song from the French version of the game, which was activated by using "LOLO".

The German version also had one for "MOYSE", put in by its translator Claude M. Moyse. However, this one was already replaced by Totaka's Song in the DX version and it's not back in the remake, according to Jon on Twitter. Claude M. Moyse was known for his funny translations and putting jokes about condoms into the game, but all traces of that had already been removed in the Virtual Console release.

Update: Neither "lolo" nor "moyse" do anything in the remake, but there is a new hidden song for "marin". You can listen to it on Youtube.
