Link's Awakening Remake: Kanalet Castle Moat Improved

Nintendo of Japan has released an overview video for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Nintendo Switch. It goes all over Koholint and even shows us bosses, which we haven't seen yet, like the Angler Fish and Hot Head, where the latter also seems to have received some well needed buffs.

There were also two areas in the footage, where the environment got some interesting changes. One is to the southwest of Martha's Bay, where you can find a new warp point, but this was already known. The other is at the southwest corner of the moat of Kanalet Castle:

They've added a wooden pole for your Hookshot here, as well as a drop into the moat. The latter is probably there as a shortcut to the Piece of Heart, which you now see in the clearer water (in the top right). And with the Hookshot pole you can get to the Secret Seashell in the cave there now earlier in the game and you won't be able to miss it any longer.

In the original game you needed the Flying Rooster to cross this abyss, but now this has changed, which prevents this particular Secret Seashell to be missable. This supports the theory that now there won't be any missable seashells any longer, but at the same time you will need all of them for all the rewards.

Update: shortly before the above scene in the footage there is also a scene inside the Seashell Mansion that indeed confirms that there won't be any missable Secret Seashells any longer:

Link is receiving the first present here, where the first of the five seashell markers is now glowing green. The bar of green liquid is way above the first marker, however, but it doesn't reach the second one. Whatever is inside the present, you don't need exactly five Secret Seashells to get it, the way it was in the original game.

Those are some very thoughtful changes! Keep it up, Nintendo and Grezzo!
